Now Showing: Fiona Finnegan & Soft Grip

Two exhibitions are currently open with Blackbird Rook – one online and one in London – each offering a different way into the possibilities of contemporary painting.

Fiona Finnegan: Last Days of Summer

11 September – 22 October 2025 (online)

Finnegan’s new works slip between folk ritual, cinema still, and dream fragment. Shadows flicker, figures dissolve, and scenes appear with the tension of memory recalled too late. Here, summer is not just a season but a spectre - intimate, uncanny, melancholy and haunting.

Soft Grip

General Assembly, London

1 September – 4 October 2025

Co-curated with General Assembly, Soft Grip brings together works by Kathryn Armitage, Kate Burling, Jenna Gribbon, Hannah Murgatroyd, Aimee Parrott, Sarah Pickstone, Sarah Slappey, Zoe Spowage, Lucy R. Whitehead, and Eleni Zervou. The exhibition looks at the body as a space where softness and strength, intimacy and pressure, coexist - playful, tough, and deeply felt.

Both shows are open now – we’d love you to explore them, online or in person.
