Greg Rook Advisory, Blackbird and Blackbird Rook
Greg Rook Advisory continues to offer independent, transparent and uniquely positioned advice to those interested in collecting Fine Art from established and emerging artists. After over 20 years working within the art world as an artist, academic and art advisor Greg Rook has a deep critical, historical and, most importantly, practical understanding of what constitutes genuinely great art. After decades in the studio Greg understands which works are significant.
With extensive knowledge of the art world GRA can advise, whether buying for pleasure or investment. Dealing with galleries, curators and artists directly from their studios, GRA has an established network of connections that can ensure greater confidence in the creation of an astute and forward looking collection.
In addition 2022 saw the birth Blackbird Rook. For the last five years Greg Rook Advisory has sent bespoke suggestions to collectors that reflect their interests and what I believe to be most interesting and valuable. Through Blackbird Rook on Artsy I have been able to create a space to catalogue many of these artists - those with whom I work directly and others in collaboration with their galleries. Blackbird Rook is now a searchable collection of artists who I think are particularly exciting or whom I have long admired.
Crypto Art
When asked to investigate NFTs in 2021, Greg Rook Advisory also began to work with contemporary artists in creating and sharing new digital and film works. Four exhibitions were curated on the SuperRare platform - one of the most credible platforms for NFT art, and following proposals and a vote, in July 2022 GRA was awarded an autonomous gallery space on SuperRare - Blackbird. Now Blackbird is able to work with contemporary artists who have a critical and thoughtful practise away from the world of digital art, and using the SuperRare Spaces platform, and the crypto art audience which that provides, they are able to reimagine their work and take it in unexpected directions.

2022 also saw GRA join Art Money which empowers people to buy art and support artists. Following a quick & easy real time application a collector will be able to pay for a work in ten payments over ten months - with no interest. They receive the work straight away and the artist also gets paid immediately too. This further democratisation of collecting helps sustain the creative economy.
